Re: GFSA on Daily Maverick (again)...
"Most illegal guns used in criminal activities were once legally owned. Legal guns become illegal when they are lost or stolen. The biggest source of illegal guns in SA is loss and theft from civilian gun owners"
They still singing this tune? Eish.

Re: GFSA on Daily Maverick (again)...
It's a misdirection.
The truth is that at some point all guns, except homemade zip guns, were legally owned. It may have been at the point of manufacture or anywhere up to where their ownership (and not the article itself) became unlawful.
It's like saying that 100% of stolen cars used in cash in transit robberies or 100% of penises involved in rape were once used and owned lawfully.
It's a twee little soundbite but nothing more than that.
The only common element that stands up to logical scrutiny is use by criminals. It is this criminal use that should be criminalised. Not even loss should be criminalised. In a law abiding society one should be entitled to expect one's lost property to be returned.
If you think that the "journalists" are going to meaningfully react to your commentary or pointing out the problem with your facts vs their feelings favorable, you have another thing coming.
The media is no longer about facts. It's about feelings - feelings get clicks, views, and likes. That is what counts.Cattle die, kindred die, every man is mortal:
But I know one thing that never dies,
the glory of the great dead.

Daily Maverick at it again. We certainly now know on which side of the fence they are sitting. This 'Opinion Piece' sounds just like another GFSA suckpuppet.

It is time that DM takes taken on about the BS the keep spinning. We know who has a stake in them.

Re: GFSA on Daily Maverick (again)...
Wow the article started off fine but then the second part if the article deteriorated into a very deliberate anti-gun mess including extremists, Covid-19 denialism, BLM, Fauci and other nonsense.
