Raptor
I'm no expert on the raptor but was privileged enough to be taken through their armoury before testing the weapon, and man was I surprised.I dont know if I'm allowed to mention names on the forums but the person who took us trough their operations realy knows his stuff and cleared up all the questions that we had to ask.The steel for the barrels are imported from Italy . The barrels are turned using the buttoning process which causes the steel molecules to position themselves in the same direction, this gives rise to the manufacturing of highly accurate and durable barrels.The machines used in a lot of these processes are of German origin and TRUVELLO is closely linked to WALTER .The other parts of the weapon are machined out of aviation grade aluminium using some of the most advanced cnc machines money can buy. Enough about that .......We shot 90 rounds in roughly 3 minutes without the weapon having one problem except that it got so hot that we could not handle it anymore.On the 5.56X45 recoil is minimal resulting in a more accurate 2nd shot placement.Target acquisition is also quicker due to the lessened recoil.The biggest reason why I bought myself one is the fact that if there is a problem with the gun parts won't be a hard to come by like some of the discontinued locally manufactured or rare imported guns.They can customize the gun locally to any shooter's needs. Aimpoint or red dots can be fitted on the Picatinni standard rails if you want to shoot open class. The gun is light enough to shoot the whole day without tiring.They will custom cut your barrel length so that your ammo can factor.The people we met are so passionate about what they do and the gun really looks great and feels solid.If you ever get the opportunity to visit them do it ...i'ts worth it.

Re: Raptor
Is this rifle piston operated like the AK / R / Galils? It appears to be somewhat of an alloy framed version of the R series rifles from the few pics I have seen of it.
Very interesting.Run Fast, Bite Hard!

Re: Raptor
Christo;
That would appear to be it. Here are some links to pics that I found on another site, but they are of the early version or perhaps a prototype I think. Copy and paste link in your browser.
