As my first proper Islay i went straight to Ardbeg & i was not disappointed at All,.
Had some Black Grouse a long time back but that was like Jeys Fluid in comparison.

Then i tasted the Uigeadail..Simply WoW!!

For the price Auchentoshan 12 is way better than it deserves to be. I find Glenfarclas 12 also a great bang for buck and keep a bottle of each at all times.

Peat wise its a mash up between Quarter Cask and Lagavulin 16 for me

So the Laphroaig Quarter Cask is a worthy consideration then as its also much cheaper than Lagavulin 16?

Out of interest, has anyone tried Lang's Full and Smokey whisky? I'm a big peat fan, but haven't tried this one. At R249 I'm not expecting much, but might pick one up for the weekend.

Agreed! I only saw it now when looking through Makro's online whisky section, otherwise I'd have tried it already.

Both are worth the price ;)

I found a club in Cape Town that had laga 16 behind the counter and didn't have a price for it. I paid Johnny black prices for two doubles
