    Default Stupid question

Hey guys just a realy stupid quick question. Im no expert in guns so here goes; how does the recoil from a modern 12 guage shotgun compare to a .50 calibre muzzleloader loaded with a 420 grain conical and about 80 grains of sannadex rifle?

Recoil for the two is similar except that the ML recoil will not be as snappy. This also all depends and the weight if the respective guns.
Pain is just weakness leaving the body.

    32g shot equals 493grains
If using a modern double barrel shotgun, it would be considerably lighter than a muzzle loader and perceived recoil would be more on the shotgun.
I would also say that the recoil of the modern smokeless propellant is sharper (snappy, as Sean says) than Blackpowder, which tends to give you more of a push, anbeit a serious one.
The fit of the weapon also plays a role in perceived recoil
