Man, that's not good. Do you think a good gunsmith could Macgyver a fix?

Isn't the Maverick the SAP's issue weapon?

If it can take SAP handling, another explanation might help?

Another one. Note he drops it from a low height, he could drop it from higher.

Look, it took a very specific drop, but being aware of it helps...I'll still take my Mossberg over some of these Turkish items...

Interesting, easy fix for me in that I don’t own one haha.

But the video is from 2016 so possibly an easy fix somewhere on the net? Guys are normally quick to find solutions to problems like that.

    Got this from another site.

Seems like a pretty easy fix though for this issue. Just need to drill and tap the pins to accept button head screws at the right depth so they bottom out and still leave enough of a shoulder to allow the lifter to move. Hell I'm sure mossberg could redesign the elevator/lifter with that provision and permanently fix the issue from happening on future models, but weather or not if they will is the question. I can see it costing a bit more money due to the extra tooling and sourcing of washers and screws for this, so production cost will go up for each shotgun and when you talk about production runs that go in the thousands that adds up extremely fast. I hope there is a fix coming and if mossberg put out a kit that consumers can buy to fix the issue that would be awesome.

Seems for the 500 and 590 if you have the safety OFF it is not an issue, though I would need to test that and not trust an internet forum alone. See here. But it is still an issue for the Maverick 88.

Possible solution but as he says it could weaken the pins.

Spoke to my local gunsmith yesterday, and he could drill the elevator pins, tap them, and install a wide screw to keep the pins from ever popping out. That would mean removing the screws for disassembly, but I have a side saddle so I have to do that anyway. I'm somewhat concerned that drilling and tapping the pins could weaken them and cause worse issues.
