Re: Looking at an AR
How are the SAI 2.0 vs say a bushmaster or m&p sport 2?

Re: Looking at an AR
The sport 2 is a great value rifle, I wish they'd mid-length them.

Re: Looking at an AR
From what I understand the SAI is a rifle assembled from different parts manufacturers including Stag Arms.
I have a Stag Mod 3, no complaints, but it isnt a Colt. Gets the job done.

Re: Looking at an AR
What attracts me most to the SAI 2.0's is that I believe they are chambered in 223 Wylde, and are also available in shorter barrel lengths of 10" & 12".
(And of course, the price - which leaves more budget for optic, suppressor, mags and ammo.)
I'd just like to know which factories the components come from, and how they would hold up to being run hard.
I'm also sniffing around these rifles at the moment, but the deal-breaker for me, is the apparent absence of a dust cover from the upper receiver, as per earlier pics in this thread - and forward assist - although, technically, that would reduce weight. The dust cover is a must for me, though.

Re: Looking at an AR
Hi, sorry to hijack this thread
I have also been thinking of getting a AR or AR style rifle and have read and watched some what regarding what is best budget AR.
As i am new to AR platform, I am a bit confused as to what to get ........ do i "bite the bullet" and get a 556/223 or do i get a .22 and get to know this platform before i get 556. If i get .22 then my wife and kid can also use .......
Budget is flexible anything up to about 20k (before upgrades) .... but i would prefer to keep it low seeing its my first AR or what is the thought trend around this?
Also i have not heard any mention of Mossberg????
Any assistance will be helpful
