Piet;
I think that on the surface a .38 revolver is an excellent choice for your mom, but...snubs are more difficult to shoot well than medium framed guns such as your M19 or maybe a M10 without the heavier barrel, if weight is at issue. For carry the snub is probably going to be the gun compromised upon, but if she will not carry, a medium framed revolver with 3 or 4in barrel mey be better for a 'house' gun.Run Fast, Bite Hard!

what IKOR said, and if she wants to carry it in deep concealment look at a DAO hammer or a shrouded or concealed hammer that wond snag on clothing during a draw, in case no one has knoticed, im a HUGE fan of the centennial S&W line of J-Frame snub 2" revolvers, they rock.

To all those that cast nasturtiums in the direction of the revolver due to it's apparent capacity or rather lack of capacity... see pics herewith. Yes, it's a real gun that fired twenty real bullets (albeit in an anemic caliber). If anything, it is an amazing piece of engineering and craftsmanship!

Like a glock 19 with 5 extra shots. Concealable too, pretend ur pregnant. I wonder if the one hammer strikes the cylinder itself while the other drops on a round ???

The mechanics of this system should be pretty interesting. Wonder how the barrel or cylinder line up for every round. If this system actually works then it's true engineering genius.

If you look closely at the first picture it would seem that there are marks on the cylinder between the chambers as the firing pin hits the 'non firing ring of chambers'. Pretty amazing. Curious on the date of design and manufacture of this piece and what the value would be on it.
