Default Road Tripping Planning and Preparation

I have had excellent service from my indie who knows Landcruiser like the back of his hand. He prepared many vehicles that did Durban to Arabia.
He is how ever old school and has no time for social media.
I have another indie that covers you for tire issues and replacements anywhere in RSA ( some across the border) and you only pay for the service once you get back home and you pay him not the call out chap.

The following though is a leader in the field for the entire concept of road tripping and overlanding.

Thought I just share good service and experiences.

Agree. Paul knows vehicles and especially Cruisers inside out.
He has also done many, many many overland miles. Knows a lot about maintenance required during such trips.

Thanks KK , It's good to have recommended service suppliers in a market which has too many who would try to make you think that you should accept poor work at exorbitant prices.

He is exceptionally knowledgable. I hope I can persuade him to become a member.

Would it be possible for gents to list some of their over landing trails/places.
Would be great to see where everyone has been.

We have been wanting to plan a trip for awhile, using 4x4 once a year is killing me haha

One of the best trips I had was in 2001, my uncle and I drove to Zambia to watch an eclipse. Went in an old yellow Range Rover, did the hunters trail up to Kasane, 2 nights in Chobe, across on Kazangula Ferry to Zambia, off to Livingstone to see the falls, spent a night on camping on a friendly farmers field. Then via Lusaka to Kafue Park, camped on a huge anthill in the floodplain of the Kafue River. Woke up surrounded by Spanish and Argentine astronomers who came in 6 busses to view the eclipse. The eclipse itself as something to behold. Drove to Itsetize Dam, spent a night on the banks in a chalet all for $10. Bundu bashed Choma, then down to Wanke Park for a few nights.
Don’t take life too seriously, no one gets out alive.
