    I did. It was painful.

Look at the Elzetta Bones, fully potted electronics. Even Surefire is not built to the same standard.

I might be mistaken, but Bernhard Agencies does SF and Streamlight is Rescomp.

Have a look at Nitecore. I got some P10GT's, 900 Lumens for about R 1200.

I have an Elzetta ZFL60 some or other on my AR in an Elzetta mount. Simply put, it is the strongest, best built, most durable, brightest flashlight I know of. And I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to flashlights and their use. (As in actual use over almost 20 years as a cop). I have seen a lot of flashlights (expensive ones even) fall apart or getting destroyed or stop working from the type of use a real working flashlight gets subjected to.

Only thing about Elzetta's are that they weigh a bit more. But then again they can literally be used to beat someone to death through a helmet. I'm of the opinion that an AR equipped with an Elzetta light would quit before the torch if it gets dropped on the torch repeatedly. (OK I'm exaggerating but you get the idea...)

Elzetta seems to market more towards police and military than general public hence why not so well known. That and the price. The fit and finish on my Elzetta Charlie is impeccable. The Bones is their basic version but still potted electronics.Read up on what makes them so good.

Which SureFire? For serious use I would not consider either Olight or Elzetta. You don't see them in the 'wild', so that for me; is telling.
