Technical Drawing
Is there anyone that is proficient with [basic] technical drawing ?
I have a few ideas but am useless at getting them onto paper
Very small project -- a demo of a proof of concept relating to greenhouses but somewhat different to the standard tunnel / "hoop-house" ( what the Americans call them )
Just some 2D and very basic 3D
Anyone interested drop me a PM and I will supply details
Thanks

Re: Technical Drawing
Why not try it on Sketchup? it is a very easy program to learn to use and has a free version.

Re: Technical Drawing
Thanks for the suggestion
I have had a [quick] look at it -- falls under Google now I think ?
TBH
I am not sure that even with some application I would be capable of producing anything ... ( that made some sort of sense )
I imagine I would frustrate myself terribly -- initially
It is far more pleasurable to watch reloading videos ( what a terrible useless excuse <not-worthy> )

Re: Technical Drawing
Hi Brenneke
PM me your number for us to discuss your requirements and possibly find a solution.
I have an off forum friend who works with roof trusses, he has the software, drafting experience and may be able to help you depending on your requirements.
He may or may not charge a small fee depending on the complexity and time spent on drawings.
Depending on where you are we can always swing him to accept range time instead of payment, the old school bartering method.

Re: Technical Drawing
Google have sold Scetchup to Trimble a few years ago. The newer free versions are online programs, making it's use heavily data-dependent. With the current reliability of our internet connections, some irritating hangups can occour.
I have been using the 2015 free version. It still works, but the online libraries are not supported anymore, so downloading standard parts is not possible.
Scetchup Pro will cost you a subscription, so not really an option of you are not going to use it often.

Re: Technical Drawing
Talking of Google - just run 3D CAD and you get quite a few hits.

Re: Technical Drawing
Yes thanks
Found those as well -- some very impressive apparently the equal of SolidWorkx
They ALL come with quite steep learning curves
There is a guy on You Tube that designed a complete complex greenhouse / aquaponics system using AutoCad ( or a version thereof )
2D / 3D with all dimensions -- pretty much a build blueprint ... VERY impressive

Re: Technical Drawing
Everyone starts with Autocad, so did I about 12 years ago.
I have been using Solidworks for 8 years, couldnt be easily convinced to use anything else.
