    Default Wooden cleaning rod

I am not sure if this should rather be with the "Classic and collectables" section?

I am looking for a place or person to buy from or get one made if needed, of the following:

A wooden cleaning rod (Rose wood I would think) for a custom build .416 Rigby rifle. The "classic" shotgun rods are not the real deal. I have searched far and wide but cannot find it. It needs to be part of the gun case equipment for this classic rifle and it just doesn't fit to have a nice bright yellow or red cleaning rod in the case.

    Please help me search!

My reason for asking is that basically all the wooden sets advertised as "vintage" are made for shotguns.

Ds, they were made of wood in the days long gone, but that has also been in the days when rifles where of large caliber. The .577's and those types. Probably for .400 inch and larger. Maybe it was .410 shotgun rods?

Still searching for one. If not found I will go for a brass rod.

I just checked: the slug diameter of a .410 is 10.4mm, and the base diameter is 11.9mm; the bullet diameter of a .416 Rigby is 10.57mm.

It should fit, I am just not sure whether it is strong enough for the tighter fit of a rifle's cleaning brush etc.

You cannot ask a question like that here without at least letting us all see photos of the rifle...

I would opt for a brass cleaning rod for a rifle.

I am not technologically advanced enough to post photos.

The rifle is still being built. Almost done, but not yet. The case still needs a bit of work also. The case is such that a 2 piece rod is needed. I am getting more convinced that a brass rod with a wooden handle would be the better way to go.
