Yes -- as were my forefathers ...
It is just that the European cartridges appeal to me -- more so than the US ( NO belted magnums --which all seem to derive from the 375H&H -- actually a British cartridge )
The allure of the 5.6x50 is that it is a balanced cartridge in 224 -- not like the 220 Swift or 22-250
The 5.6 x 57 ( based on 7 x 57 ) is the European 220 Swift -- much too overbore for me
Unfortunately I do not own anything in 5.6 x 50
QL does have a listing for it -- I can see what it says about loadings ....
I am sure reamers as well as dies are available
