Question .22 LR bolt-action rifles available in SA?

Hi, which dealers stock new .22 LR bolt-action rifles (for competition & precision shooting)? Preferably in the W.C.

I've seen S&O carry Anschutz sillhouette/sport rifles but I live in a small town so don't know too much. What competition rimfires do stores in SA stock?

I've looked at a lot of gun shops' websites, and received a couple of quotes; it seems like currently there's no stock of nice heavy barrel .22 rifles in SA. Dunno why there are not a lot more .22 rifles & ammo available as they are so lekker and cheap to shoot.

Generally Americans, all 400 000 000 of them, have widely varying opinions on anything. Some of them don't even like guns at all. So generalizing on what "Americans say" is basically just BS. (Sorry, but this can't be sugar-coated much.)

Buying and shooting a 22 is always worth the price, simply since you decide how much you are willing to spend. If you use it properly, you will likely spend much more on ammo than on the rifle and scope during your shooting career. So buy once, cry once. Buy the best you can afford, which will give you more shooting pleasure than a budget option that will let you down in a few years.

If precision is your game, then don't skimp on the rifle. An affordable scope can go a long way before you need to upgrade, but that is easy as it requires no license applications and other drama. The CZ varmint rifles offer very decent accuracy as they are and can by upgraded in small increments. Gun Warrior makes a chassis for them if that tickles your fancy. There are also many other stock options, both factory and after market. (There is another tread about the options.) Also look at the various Anschutz options. The Tikka T1 may be available soon. This looks like a good option. Then there are real target rifles, usually with single-shot actions, that occasionally pop up on the used market. If you are really serious about prescision, this is likely the ultimate choice.

I saw a CZ .22lr NIGHT Sky. Looks and feels really good. Saw it at Eastcoast Arms in Durban.
