Remington 416 Bullet weights and velocities
So my rifle build is complete and the wait for the CFR about to begin. Will for now be scoped with a 1-6 x24 Vortex Strike Eagle scope that I bought for an AR that never materialised.
Buffalo and Elephant ain't on the menu yet.
The rifle will be used to hunt wild Hereford cattle in thick Protea bush. Later Eland might be hunted in the Free State- hope to visit TStone next year. Some smaller animals might also be hunted.
In terms of bullet weights and brands what will you advise?
I can get hold of: Hornady- DGS and DSX bonded 400grain, Swift A-Frame 350 grain and Frontier Spartan bullets.
Powder would be Hodgdon.

350gr A Frames will be more than enough for Eland etc.
Will also work fine should you want to shoot Buffalo later, although I would personally go for the 400gr A Frame for the Buffalo.A roaring Lion kills no game

On a tangent to your post where do you go for the cattle hunt?
Don’t take life too seriously, no one gets out alive.
