Sharp Edge in Sandton is gone :(

To my dismay Sharp Edge Sharp Shooter has been sold to B&T.

I had a lot of fond memories of that store, I used to sneak out of St David's and go drool over the knives and talk crap to Mr Gordon.

How times changes, and not always for the best.

Holy..... I too had a lot of fond memories, my first major knife purchase was at the shop :(

Me too. It was a Kabar and I still have it. They were at the time in the Carlton Centre and I was a constable at Jeppe SAP. Used to sneak away and drool over the "real" knives. Really sad but change is a constant I suppose.

That sucks!! I use to go there as a kid when my mother went shopping, I would spend the whole day in that store!
The owner literally wouldn’t mind a 10 year old kid in the shop for 3 straight hours just drooling over everything! Especially the swords

The store was not sold.

The lease on the Sandton store was due for renewal along with a clause requiring a major refurb of the store. Stan crunched the numbers and was still undecided before the lockdown. Once that hit it was a no brainer to move out of the centre and concentrate on on-line sales.

But the retail store is still there. Sharp Edge have built a beautiful destination store at their wholesale office in Waverley, it's really worth a visit. It's a 5 minute drive from Melrose Arch.
