Re: Sharp Edge in Sandton is gone :(
Also have many fond memories of hanging out at Sharp Edge; particularly during my younger days.
I recall very vividly a discussion I had with the guys there when I hurried in to have my newly delivered katana appraised. They took great pains to explain to me that it probably wasn't worth all that much; especially since I had bought it off eBay!!!
A stop at the Katana display case always made a trip to Sandton City worth the effort.
May the next 39 years be equally rewarding for Sharp Edge.

I used to love going to Barry's Blades in the Wheel in Durban when I was a teenager, and later Sharp Edge in Sandton whenever I went to Jozi. Glad to hear they're just moving and not closing

I went to the new store.
Very spacious and impressive with a huge selection.
Walked out with a new little knife and nail clippers lol.

The store was a must go to, when visiting Sandton City. Given they weren't always the cheapest, but at least they had the stuff

Meh... you youngsters.
Sharp Edge/Sharp Shooter in the Carlton Centre (just down the passage from Safari Club International) was where the adventure started for me. With Stan and Barry and my good friend Mike Asher (tortured to death in the Seychelles after the failed coup).

I used to love Barry's Blades in the Wheel in Durban. Opened in the early 90's, not sure when they closed or how it fits in with the Sharp Edge timeline
