Re: Best Hunting Boots- recommendations please
Another thing to consider, Rogue offer a big discount (40% I think) if you're a field guide. Some of my colleagues swear by their boots.

Re: Best Hunting Boots- recommendations please
Just a question, the Courtney boots, arent they a soft boot like a veldskoen..
Asking because I dont know..
But Jim Greens is a strong nonsense leather boot, en donners sterk! Love mine.
I also have a pair of Hi Tech boots, looks like the boots the Americans wore in the Irak or iran dessert war, extremely comfortable, and awesome ankle support, as is the Jim Greens..

Re: Best Hunting Boots- recommendations please
Thanx for all the suggestions. I see that parktown stores stock a variety of wolverines and the k way are available at Cape Union. Will see where I can have a look at courtney boots.
I also a pair of caterpillars for years but haven’t seen any on the shelves that suited my needs.

Soft soles (less noisy, but feet tend to get tender on extremely rocky terrain) - Wildebeest are great.
Hard soles (More noisy, great support for long treks. Tough as nails boots that will last a very long time) - Jim Greens

Re: Best Hunting Boots- recommendations please
Yes saw it while hunting this year. I walked with a guide that wore vellies. Was much more quiet than my Jeep Desert Combat boots, although I really like my boots.
Also I used to get little rocks in the low cut Hi-Tech hiking boots, but the high cut Combat boots keep sand and rocks out, and gives good ankle support.
