Underfolder is fun for awhile, until one realized that a sharp steel cheek weld sucks haha, then a bit of an effort to change the stock out

I love my 56, and there are accessories for it to bring it in line. Lets be honest even with the SAIGA one would change out the bits, it just comes down to cost and preference :)

Unless you want to just because; the Saiga is good to go without changing a thing. The under folder is classic but for actual shooting not so great. The Saiga is the better gun by a long way.

I will be changing the AR buttstock

But I did get lucky, it's a CNC warrior, fully machined galil style knuckle, heavy duty as hell. Actually got it from a gentleman here on gunsite
    SADF surplus sling
    Vortex strikefire (off gunsite)
Kalishnikov side rail from tac 22
    3% brake and muzzle shroud
    3% charging handle
    Generic rail
    Fab defense grip
slabside mag for a bit of history (Thanks Peter W)

So yes some stuff would be easier on the Saiga, like folding stock and mounts

Puf gun mags work just as good as original.
Saiga and Kalashnikov are made in the same factory. With the latter being a more premium build.

Imo PUF mags are nowhere near the quality of original AK mags or even close to Magpul AK mags.

They will not give the same use life as either of the original or Magpul.

They will prob be OK for range practice use until they are not.

One of the very best modern mags is the Bulgarian Circle10 mag but not easy to find in SA.

The AKMS is not a play gun but a serious battle rifle.
They are found in abundance in places where they are carried by people who kill people and they kill alot of people.

Cheekweld is not a problem. The compromise is rather that the shooter’s eye is less in line with the sights than with a straight stock gun. A slight tilt of the rifle to get sight line closer to the dominant eye resolves the issue.

It is not a 3-gun gun.

I will happily take it to fight with.
