Very cool story Dave and congrats to Cody! As for your "new" friend he looks like he is in trouble there during the skinning but well done for persevering!

Thanks for the love and attention you give to your son. A thumb's up and a high five to the young man. A great achievement on his way to manhood.

Was moved by this - well done on being patient in facilitating his first Kudu experience! My son is of similar age and I could relate on many levels. Lovely pics.

Its amazing how good a parent I appear, yet every day I regret things I said to him, how many times I think afterwards that it was such a small thing for me so big for him and I was too lazy - stingy.

He built a dam in this rain, he was so chuffed with it and he put a over flow pipe on it, that over flow pipe was so clever of him to himself, he just wanted to show me. I was working, what ever inside and when called to come out too look at the dam in the 100 kmh - 50 Deg Cel weather I said no, and shouted when he tried to convince me.
Luckily this time he walked away and did not carry on and on, this gave me a chance to reflect and realize past mistakes before loosing temper.

So half hour later we stood in rain looking at his dam flooding my lower shed floor, I listened to the "science" behind his dam and muttered the words he needed to hear before succumbing to hypothermia.

"Well done Cody, thats a impressive dam, maybe one say you will be a dam builder."

Happy child, less ashamed parent. Saved that one.

Cody is a lucky young man. Based on this and various other threads.
