New member - recent gun owner

Hi All,

Joined this site a few days ago and looking forward to being a member.

I bought a 9mm pistol last year, getting everything done was a bit of a nightmare. took over a year from date of purchase to collecting the pistol. As all of you can imagine that was very frustrating. After competency was done when i handed my licence application in the first thing the DFO checked was which gun seller it was registered to, yes you guessed it, it was not the chap i was buying it from, so that was unnecessary backwards and forwards. Finally when my application was in for about 120 working days did i receive confirmation and then it was another 5 weeks until i could collect my licence card. What i am grateful for is that i did not need to resort to a lawyer to get it done, so even though it took a very long time at least there was no issues.

On to the pistol. I have no brand loyalty when it comes to firearms so when i looked at what was available in my price range, i ended up choosing a Beretta PX4 storm full size. Reason for that was it was the only one that day that fit comfortably in my hand. I have been told by some of my friends that parts will be an issue, though i guess all i can do there is deal with it when the time comes. Though i can add, if a CZ Shadow was in my budget that would have been perfect.
