Trail Cameras

Anybody got experience using trail cams?? Looking at the bushnell trophy and/or lynx one's although i saw an advert for a stealth one that was quite cheap at about 1500..how far should one place the camera from the bait and do the pigs notice the flash or not?? also how high/low must the camera be.. Thanks

i hope you get answers. i have wanted now for a long time to get more info on this matter. but it seems these cameras are still much more in use in America than over here.

Never done it myself although we did use a few back in the day to catch pot growers, but here is a bit of info and a You Tube infomercial that might help. Not much difference between deer and pigs I reckon except with pigs here it is almost all night work. I'd opt for an IR flash but that might be too expensive.

Hi,

The most commonly used camera in SA is the Spypoint 6mp IR LED camera, it works on a LED illumination at night in stead of a flash.

It takes colour pictures during the day and black and white at night.

You can postion the camera anything from 5-40 yards and the sensor will pick up any movement that will trigger the camera.
