Re: Hog with an unusual handgun.
The barrel is free floating, with a shroud around it.

Re: Hog with an unusual handgun.
What's the purpose of the shroud if I may ask?

Re: Hog with an unusual handgun.
The way it was explained to me: Resting the barrel on a solid rest causes the point of impact of the bullet to change. The free floating barrel allows you to rest the shroud on a solid rest, without changing poi. This same revolver used to have a 15" barrel and was used to shoot targets at very long range.

Very nice T. Did he hunt anything else?
It must be a breeze to stalk with a handgun!!!

Re: Hog with an unusual handgun.
264, he shot a springbok, warthog and the jackal with the .357, He also shot a number of animals with a specialty pistol in 7mm Dakota (180gr at 2900fps). Stalking with a handgun is a pleasure but in this case we carried around a rest, which was quite bulky.

Re: Hog with an unusual handgun.
It has an excellent muzzle brake on it. I shot it one handed, over a rest, with my off hand holding a small sand bag under the grip. Recoil is about like my S & W mod 19 with PMP factory ammo. The noise and muzzle blast, though, were horrible. I had to put in ear plugs, every time, before my client could shoot.
