Re: IDPA shooting
"Way ahead of you there. We have IPSC and 3GN already lined up... and accreditation and endorsements through NARFO... as well!"
WOW Dude !!!
The quotation above is from a Tac Shac post from Paul Oxley regarding their future involvement in sport shooting in SA.
I made no statements as fact, only references to Tac Shac's own statements.
Is asking for clarification on published statements by Tac Shac such a sin ???

So what clarification do you want? Seems clear as day to me.

With regard to sin... I suppose asking for clarification isn’t, but using a space before punctuation marks should be.

Re: IDPA shooting
OK. So Tac SHAC Shooting Club is doing exactly what the SADPA members mandated the Exco to do with SADPA at the AGM in March this year (and which instruction they ignored, leading to the demand for a Special General Meeting, leading to Lynette and my suspension from IDPA). Tac SHAC SC has become a multi-disciplinary shooting club accommodating many disciplines.
(Strangely) Lynette and I remain SADPA members in good standing. Many of our club members are still SADPA members although quite a few quit SADPA and IDPA in sympathy with us. Nonetheless we still host SADPA shoots on a regular basis, and will continue to do so as long as the members require it.
As far as SADPA DMG is concerned... well, the SADPA DMG concept has been pretty much a failure if you exclude Tac SHAC's efforts to keep it alive. It is busy morphing as we speak (even to the extent that the SADPA DMG Nationals this weekend is being used to trial a new concept for which there aren't even any provisional rules yet... Yes! At a Nationals!), and we have replaced SADPA DMG with what we should have been shooting right from the beginning... 3 Gun Nation.
Our IPSC membership is on track and we should be hosting matches next month as soon as RO status is confirmed.
Also, in expectation of this, we are converting many of our more senior SADPA Safety Officers (at this stage an IDPA sporting qualification) into proper certificated Range Officers, recognised in the National Qualifications Framework by the South African Qualifications Authority."Always remember to pillage before you burn"

Re: IDPA shooting
The DMG Nationals will be shot under current DMG rules and not as a test or trial for a new concept.
The concept of DMG was slightly (insert your own expletive) because it was merely a watered down form of something which never was IDPA.
A lot of work has been done to draft a proper rulebook to provide SADPA members with the opportunity to shoot REALISTIC defensive scenario's using rifles and shotguns in addition to the current IDPA handgun and PCC divisions.
When the committee responsible for the new rules are satisfied that the rules are 100% perfect and SADPA approves them, only then will the new rules apply. And it will be good. And there will be no silliness like "Tube fed guns being allowed to load other guns"
Realistically we can expect the new thing around beginning of next year.

Re: IDPA shooting
Muskets as in that shit from 2 centuries ago before real guns were invented?
'Didn't see anything like that in the match booklet.
If this is something that someone is just putting out there to start rumours (?). It's what the military calls "Disinformation" its like BS, but more sneaky... but its still BS.

Re: IDPA shooting
Sorry M43, but since the SADPA Exco decided to remove Lynette and I (illegitimately) from all of the official communications of the association that we are still paid-up members (in good standing) of, we are left to rely on scraps of info such as the above screenshot in order to know what OUR association is up to.

Re: IDPA shooting
Ok it makes sense now. There will be two stages (1 Rifle & 1 SG) where people can get a hands on feel for the new rules that will allow a transition to a sling when the long gun runs empty. This will be AFTER the shoot (and BEFORE BeerO'clock ;)
Those who still want to shoot after 2 days in the sun can give it a try.
