I'm talking more along the lines of electricity and a functioning state.
I've already accepted she won't grow old in SA, I've had a great life here, the future doesn't exactly look rosey

That being said, if this becomes an ANC/EFF government, I'll take up the offer over there as well

It has a very long way to go before it resembles government healthcare here.

Mense, this thing will be tied up in court forever.

    It's electioneering.

Question is whether it will work (i.e. get the ANC more votes).

There's a question there? Did you see the muppety audience hoovering up Lesufis bald face lies about how after the election it was open door policy on all the private hospitals?

You really think the con court will rule against the masses?

There is currently a small percentage of the population making use of private health care, the con court will easily sacrifice them "for the betterment of the majority of the population".

You can easily make universal healthcare work on paper.

So how many have left the country as a result of the NHI initiatives?

That would be impossible to determine. It is without doubt an additional motivation for some and as the inevitable consequences of it start to manifest it will grow in significance. I'm very much hoping that the credulous muppets amongst us who bought into the new dawn and dot joining and the rest have come to realise that dollar couch guy is exactly like all the other anc kleptocommies but with a bit of extra lubrication added.

Every day Joe and Jane? The NIH was probably not one of the main reasons they decided to leave. Nurses, paramedics, psychologist, physiotherapist, GP's , speech therapist, surgeons, etc that haven't already moved, are probably going to start thinking about it. The younger ones will still remember how things were run in the clinics and hospitals where they did their Zuma years. I doubt they look forward to going back to it.

Right now there are three classes of folk, the rich whom will still use private healthcare out of their own pockets, the middle class whom we will talk about now, and the poor that does not pay anything.

The problem lies with the middle class, the people who actually pay the medical schemes we currently have, if the money is stolen (which it will) then there won’t be any private healthcare, no private healthcare then nobody for rich people to pay privately.

The anc has run everything into the ground, this will be no different yes there will be a lot of court cases but when it comes to destruction courts have not stopped anything from being destroyed by them, delay yes stop no. And then on top of that I fully expect AI to destroy a lot of jobs within the next 5 to 10 years further reducing money to spend on anything. And we haven’t even mentioned the worse thing about it, when the NHI was proposed the big medical schemes thought it very lovely, a good lesson in how to cut off your own head.

But anyways, nothing new, every single sound minded person not believing in rainbow nation bullshit saw this coming.
