Why do I need to lube up if Opticsplanet exports an optic legally to me? Same with Brownells. Makes no sense.

No, I've bought them before with no issue. The lithium batteries are the issue, not so much the light. Take the batteries out and send the damn thing in the post.

Really? Why then can I regularly, legally import all sorts of gun related stuff (controlled and non-controlled parts to the value of $500 and more)with zero issue? If it weren't legal to do so, it wouldn't be leaving the U.S. in the first place.

I'm fairly sure all Eotech Holographics are still one the ITAR Exception list by name, same as with T1's, certain ACOG's and some of the Razor Range, There are also certain Leupold, Niteforce and that new Sig Scope on the list if my memory serves me correctly.

Which if optics planet does export them, they would require the paperwork and permits to be in place. Not sure how they work for direct export but Brownells used to do the permits from their side, we could need to arrange the SAPS (if applicaple) and ITAC from our side.

Also some confuse ITAR with Dept of Commerce and the different requirements there, and what falls under each jurisdiction.

Also, as a FYI... most US Companies don't direct export because they need to register as an ITAR Registered FFL Exporter, and for most the cost of that and logistic challenges outweigh the benefits.
