Barnes XPB for 44 Mag
Hi all.
have anyone here tried experimenting with the Barnes 225 gr XPB in a 44 Mag.
i'm considering trying them out in my SBH for hunting.

Excellent bullet. Not a lot of experimentation I can find on the net, but here is some info on the CorBon factory load at a listed 1350fps and actual 1305fps from a 5in barrel. Your SBH should do better with the longer barrel. Keep in mind that a) these bullets are longer than lead or standard jacketed bullets and can thus create an issue with chamber pressure if loaded to specs for those bullets, and b) it is 'possible' to push the Barnes bullets fast enough that the petals will blow off on heavy bone or things like windscreen glass, etc.
