They need to run, they dig. A lot. They do not get along with cats, birds, small animals, they shed their coats twice a year, they are escape artists of note and a 6 foot fence means nothing to them. If they cannot get over they dig under, they are very vocal and howl. See post from HadEnough (might even be the insparation for his user name) They are stunning dogs that are highly intelligent and thrive on attention.
People see the cute puppy with blue eyes and buy them on impulse. 6 months later this cute puppy destroys the garden, kill the cat and leaves hair everywhere. They then get surrendered to Husky Rescue or the SPCA or even worse get give to another unsuspecting owner and the crap starts all over.

Wow, sound like a hand full. I have always loved them but I'm not home nearly enough to be able to take any dog. Its good to know this though, thank you
