    Default Requirements to join SAAACA?

    Hi,

    Would like to join SAAACA soon, but was wondering what the additional requirements are, other than the following:
    * Recommendation in writing by one/more SAAACA members
    * Character reference
    * Possible background check?

    Can anyone clarify a little more please?

    All of the above as far as i can recall from when i thought of joining - best is to call them and get the info straight from the horses mouth. You will also have to specify your collection intents and motivate it i think.

    Postive rectal-stick interface.

    The background check is a SAPS issue, its not SAAACA's baby.

    You will need to convince a panel you are a collector and justify what you want to collect and why.
    Members get proposed and seconded by previous members.
    A lot of knowledge on your chosen fields will go a long way.

    Cool, I have all of that sorted then. I have been seconded (written) by three members and have spoken to the Chairman, Andy who I know pretty well. He was more than happy to assist, so basically all I need is the SAPS background check done.

    Thanks guys.

    The SAPS bit only happens when you apply for a competency cert from them, like with all applications at CFR.

    You will need to do a categorisation thing too, if you want any class B or A weapons.
    Do you have any previous licenses granted as a collector with collection stated on the applications?

    Yeah, will be class C for now. As far as I know, applying for Class A/B is a big issue for first time collectors and chances are extremely good your membership will be rejected.

    I have no licenses granted under collectors status, only section 15 and SD.
