Re: Firearms Amendment Bill of 2021
We just had this happen:
Then they come out and say on national news that we have to get rid of legal firearms ASAP.
I suspect that the success of these two in the video have angered a lot of people who would have preferred to see them dead

Also that bill is not current. I made the same mistake earlier in this thread.

Re: Firearms Amendment Bill of 2021
That's 15 years old though. Surely the 2018 draft is more applicable, as the 2021 draft will just be slightly trimmed down due to the public response on the 2018 draft.
I can't remember silencers/suppressors being mentioned in the draft though, might be mistaken.
This was the 2018 draft for anyone interested : https://www.ctsasa.co.za/wp-content/...ent-Bill-3.pdf

Re: Firearms Amendment Bill of 2021
Hopefully all this talk of further restrictions helps set our priorities straight as a community.
We need to support our organizations and lobby them. That's something we can all do, no excuses.
All of us have a role to play. Many hands make light work.
If we don't act we will eventually lose access to private firearms ownership in SA.
Slowly but surely, like a frog in boiling water government will see it's agenda become reality.
Hopefully the organizations can band together and put aside differences. If they can't, the future is very uncertain. Much is at stake.

Re: Firearms Amendment Bill of 2021
You miss the point.
It doesn't matter how often they are used in crimes.
We don't ban cars because they are used in robberies.
We don't ban cameras because they are used to manufacture child pornography.
We don't ban hardons because they are used in rapes.
We ban guns because they are a threat to the government's monopoly on violence and limit their ability to enforce their wishes and demands for money at gunpoint.Cattle die, kindred die, every man is mortal:
But I know one thing that never dies,
the glory of the great dead.
