How many mags should you have?

In a practical sense yes. But anybody can have a billion-gazillion mags if they want. Thats not restricted.

Legally you can only have 250 rounds ( normal licence) so in my case 13 mags full is the limit, ammo wise. Nothing says I can't have 100 more mags in the drawer.

I'm not to sure your round count on a 'normal licence' (I've assumed a section 13 licence) is correct.
I'm of the belief the round count is 200.

I made sure my EDC is interchangeable with my sport gun. EDC Glock 27, Sport Glock 22.

Solves many problems.

^^^Good approach! This is exactly what I do but with a G26 carry gun and a G17 sport and occasional carry gun.

Mags are like toilet paper, you can never have enough and by the time you realise it's too little the smelly stuff has probably already hit the fan.
